One new concept I have become very intrigued by is the "Interactive Student Notebook".
If you have never heard of Interactive Student Notebooks ("ISN" or sometimes just "IN"), you have mistaken it is some new fandangled technology that is coming through. Actually, it's going back to basics, and re-introducing in a more creative way to note-take in ... *aghast* ... an old-school lined exercise book.
Regardless of whether you have a great 1:1 program at school, I strongly believe in using an integrated approach to teaching. Note-taking and legible handwriting is a lost art, and from my observations of my students - it is absolutely necessary to explicitly teach this skill.
So beginning next year (2014), I will be experimenting with implementing ISNs in the Year 6&7 classroom. Wish me luck!
