Benefits
- There are dozens of games. You can create your own lists or use pre-made lists made by other teachers. You can play any of their games using your lists or embed it into your website.
- It has flexibility for a variety of subjects, so for a language like Indonesian - (forlorn in it's online teacher resources when compared to French/Spanish), it is simple and quick to develop a different activity online.
- Do I need my students to sign up? No, they do not. So that is definitely a plus.
However, I base my opinions of usefulness of certain technology in the classroom on a few criteria as outlined below:
- Simplicity for the teacher - We are busy people, and spending too "work out" how a website works is not worth it to me. As a (reasonably) tech savvy teacher, I felt that I had to spend too long navigating the Zondle website, and although it wasn't entirely difficult, I still became frustrated after 15 minutes.
- Loading Time - Our school has a very fast internet connection, but it can still slow down if enough students are on websites that have big files. So I still need websites to load quickly. I found on Zondle - the games did take its time.
