And strangely enough, I never thought about Hangman!. Such a ridiculously simple game, and so effective for keeping students busy/relatively quiet! Also great for introducing/revising a new concept.
I have just copy and pasted the rules from her blog below:
Hangman
A student or teacher thinks of a word in the LOTE and then draws lines on the board to indicate each letter of the word. The students then take turns guess what letter is missing. For every incorrect letter the teacher/ student draw a body part. The aim of the game is for the students to work out what word is going to be formed before a complete body is drawn.
For bonus marks at the end, students can work together in groups to tell me what it means in English.
This is great for highlighting grammatical patterns. For example, today we were learning "Badan saya sakit..." (My body is sore.) and I kept replacing "Badan" for other body parts, to create new sentences. Many students started picking up that it was not difficult to make new sentences based on this.
The internet is so amazing!! Thank you wonderful teachers for sharing your ideas...!!
Where would a newbie teacher be without them....
